About The Artist
Tammy Lee Maharrey is a self taught digital artist. She is a retired Pediatric Dentist and holds a Master's Degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, College of Dentistry, a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, College of Dentistry and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Tammy began taking formal art lessons at the age of seven years old. Her mother enrolled her in a pottery/ceramics class in West Chester, Pennsylvania. From childhood her interests in the various art forms led her to a career in Pediatric Dentistry. These years allowed her to immerse herself in many art experiences where an idea became a design, a mold, a cast or another finished product that she developed to restore a smile.
Tammy enjoys integrating texture into her projects through various embossing techniques, collage art, drawing, and painting. She has also designed a line of leather goods and accessories that were developed, marketed and sold in Nashville, Tennessee.
During the Covid Pandemic isolation period, Tammy began to pursue an interest in digital painting. The artworks displayed in her portfolio represent three areas of interest for the artist: Nature, Faces, and Abstract art forms. Her artworks are an expression of life and love.
